Our specialized implant department offers you a dedicated team of skilled technicians who are certified and trained in all phases of implant rehabilitation for all of the leading manufacturers-from surgical placement stents to furnished prosthesis.
In all cases, please remember to include the following items when sending an implant case to Thompson Suburban Dental Laboratory.

TSDL provides you with a wide assortment of abutments and restorative options to meet the individual needs of your patients.
Stock Abutments
We offer stock abutments which are pre-manufactured and are non-patient specific for those appropriate cases. Most implant systems offer a stock abutment option.
Custom Abutments (patient specific)
Custom gold abutments or UCLA abutments which are patient specific for those implant cases that require the customization and precision required to complete the case. These are hand waxed and casted by highly knowledgeable technicians to assure the support of the tissue and the anatomically correct final prothesis.
Atlantis Abutments are available in titanium, gold titanium (Atlantis GoldHue) or zirconia. Each abutment is precision-machined from a solid blank of medical grade titanium or zirconium and is patient-specific. Atlantis Abutments are uniquely designed from the final tooth shape using the Atlantis VAD (Virtual Abutment Design) software and are available for most major systems.
Atlantis Titanium Abutments: These CAD/CAM titanium abutments are anatomically designed and produced for each specific patient and indications. There is no need for hand-grinding because of the excellent design.
Atlantis GoldHue Abutments has the same features and benefits as the Atlantis Titanium Abutment with the addition of a thin coating of titanium nitride which gives it a warm gold-shaded color. Its use is indicated in esthetically challenging cases with soft tissue or when using all-ceramic crowns.
Shaded Atlantis Zirconia Abutments is one of the few all-zirconia, engineered solutions currently on the market. These abutments are milled from a solid zirconia blank of Y TZP (yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals) for unmatched strength and durability, color consistency, excellent biocompatibility and reduced plaque build-up in comparison to titanium. The zirconia material comes in four shades and is ideal for cases with thin gingival tissue or where soft tissue migration occurs.
Lava Custom Zirconia Abutments
New advancements in digital technologies mean that you can now offer your patients custom designed implant abutments with shaded Lava Zirconia. These hybrid abutments are compatible with a wide variety of implant systems and there is a metal-to-metal connection between screw and abutment. Unlike many all-ceramic abutments on the market today, the screw does not torque directly into the zirconia material,so you can follow standard recommendations for torque pressures on the screw and abutment.
